If you are coming to the gallery’s 17-year anniversary artist reception, I highly recommend turning it into a proper Fredericksburg getaway. One of the things I love most about this town is how easy it is to slow down, eat well, and enjoy beautiful places, all without needing a packed itinerary. Below are my personal favorite places to stay, eat, and unwind while you’re here, written exactly the way I would tell a friend visiting for the weekend.
Where to Stay
Baron’s Creekside Resort
My first recommendation is Baron’s Creekside Resort, and not just because we’re hosting the after-party there. This property is genuinely special. The cabins are historic Swiss log cabins that were imported and then carefully reconstructed, and staying in one feels like stepping into another time while still being just minutes from downtown Fredericksburg. You get the charm of a peaceful creekside setting with the convenience of being close to everything. It’s one of those places where you immediately relax and think, this is exactly where I’m supposed to be staying.
The Albert Hotel
If your style leans more modern and polished, The Albert Hotel is a great option. It’s newer, beautifully designed, and right in the heart of town, making it easy to walk to shops, restaurants, and galleries. It feels elevated without being stuffy and is perfect if you like having everything at your fingertips while still enjoying a comfortable, thoughtfully designed stay.
Where to Eat and Drink
Zuly’s
Zuly’s is my go-to spot for breakfast or a yummy treat, and it just happens to be right next to the gallery. They have the best croissants in town, European-style sandwiches on fresh ciabatta bread, and it’s also my current favorite place to grab a latte. It’s casual, cozy, and consistently excellent. You can’t go wrong starting your day here.

Leroy’s Tex-Mex BBQ
For something that feels very Fredericksburg and very Texas, Leroy’s is a must. Their brisket tacos are fantastic, the tortillas are made to order, and they won Best Queso in town for 2025 for good reason. It’s relaxed, flavorful, and satisfying in the best way. It’s also next to a produce stand, which makes it easy to grab fresh veggies to take home and pretend you live like a local.
Hondo’s on Main
If you’re in the mood for outdoor music, a laid-back atmosphere, and a solid Bloody Mary, Hondo’s is always a good choice. It’s a great place to linger on a Sunday, listen to live music, and enjoy the rhythm of Main Street without feeling rushed.
