At The Good Art Company, we love celebrating the artists who bring so much heart, skill, and originality into our gallery, and today, we’re especially excited to share a milestone from one of our longtime artists, Shan Fannin.

If you’re familiar with Shan’s work, you know she’s a master of hyper-realistic, colorful vehicle paintings that blend technical precision with a deep sense of nostalgia and personality. Recently, Shan was commissioned for a major public art project with the City of Austin’s Art in Public Places Program, sponsored by Austin Aviation.

Rather than summarize her story, I want you to hear it directly from her. In the blog below, Shan shares in her own words how this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity came full circle by taking her from an early display at the Austin airport to a permanent installation that will greet millions of travelers to the Lone Star State's capital city in the years ahead.

I'm thrilled to share that I have been commissioned by the City of Austin's Art in Public Places Program and sponsored by Austin Aviation, to create a permanent art installation (Restroom Entries) for the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS)! This will be for the new Arrivals and Departures Hall, which is currently estimated to open in the early 2030s. This commission is incredibly significant because my connection with AUS is close to my heart. Back in 2016, I had my 5' Chevrolet Truck on temporary display. My work was seen, and I was offered my first solo exhibition (Amelia Island Concours). At the Concours, I was commissioned to paint an award winning Lamborghini Miura. All of this strengthened my goal of becoming a world class vehicle artist. To be back and create a permanent piece for AUS is truly a full-circle moment. Shan's journey is such a beautiful reminder of what can unfold when talent, persistence, and passion intersect. Watching her return to the very place that helped launch her career, this time as a commissioned airport artist, is nothing short of inspiring.

We couldn’t be prouder to represent Shan and to cheer her on as she begins creating this permanent installation for AUS. If you’d like to explore more of her work, learn about her process, or view available originals, you can visit her artist page here at The Good Art Company.

Here’s to full-circle moments, big dreams, and the artists who make our world more creative and vibrant. Three cheers for Shannon!
